Rodney Kolar's display was voted "Trolley Riders' Favorite"
Christmas trolley tour passengers voted Rodney Kolar's home at 1131 Salsbury Lane as their favorite display in the 2006 contest. Kolar received five more votes than the Nielsons at 2019 Gail Lane.
The Kolars will receive the prestigious "Trolley Riders' Favorite" framed certificate and bragging rights for the next year. Rodney is a 78-year-old World War II veteran who said this would be his last year decorating due to health reasons. Contest judges had earlier awarded Kolar the "Thanks for the Memories Award" to recognize his many displays over the years.
